Standardising the important clinical competency of aseptic with ANTT in Poland
The Polish Society of Infusion Nursing and the Association for Safe Aseptic Practice (ASAP) are collaborating to promote safety standards in medical care in Poland, with implementation of Aseptic Non Touch Technique (ANTT). ANTT is the international de facto standard for the critical clinical competency of aseptic technique and it is used in over 30 countries. It is also the recommended Infusion Standard for aseptic technique in the INS Infusion Standards (INS 2024).
Implementing ANTT in Polish health care facilities, particularly through translations and the availability of materials in Polish, aims to standardise aseptic practices, contributing to enhanced patient safety, reducing the risk and incidence of infections associated with medical procedures.
One of the key aspects of this collaboration is the translation of educational materials developed by ASAP into Polish. These materials outline the principles of ANTT and aseptic standards, making it easier to adapt global guidelines to the Polish context and implement them in practice. The translated materials help healthcare providers understand the critical components of this technique and its role in preventing infections. They also make practice expectations of the organisation, explicit. We encourage you to use them.
